The movie introduces Tomie (Miho Kanno) as a severed, living head. She is fed and cared for by a boy with an eyepatch. Her body eventually grows back, limb by limb, until she resembles a normal human being The bizarre pair have moved next door a young woman named Tsukiko Izumisawa, who has a past relationship with Tomie that she cannot remember due to post-traumatic-stress-induced amnesia.
